I don't want to be a bad dog! Please take me to Barks n' Rec doggy school!

We’ve been doing a lot of thinking, networking, and planning to try to figure out how to make our training classes even better and easier for those of us with busy schedules to fit in. The resulting is something we are really excited about, and with the new classes gearing up to start in a few weeks, we are thrilled to share the good news with everyone.

More Trainers

We are proud to welcome two new trainers to our business. Our training team is pleased to welcome Amy Rennette and Vanessa Charbonneau KPA-CTP. Amy has been doing a mentorship with Sarah and will be graduating as a Certified Dog Trainer through Animal Behaviour College. Vanessa is a recent graduate of the Karen Pryor Academy and is a KPA Certified Training Partner. We are very excited to add these two talented women to our ranks as it will allow us to offer more classes at more times to make things even easier and better for our clients.

Improved Classes, Flexible Schedule

We are switching to an “open enrollment” class format, meaning new students can start into classes any week, and if your schedule requires you can miss a class once in a while without falling behind. The beauty of this format is it will work with busy schedules or shift work, and you can work at a pace you and your dog are comfortable.

The curriculum has changed to become easier, more modern, and more effective and applicable for what you need for your family companion. We have geared all of our lessons to be more in tune with “real life” obedience needs, so you can apply what you learn in class easily to challenges you face at home or on the go.

Polite Pooch Training Club – Age 16 Weeks and Up

Our basic obedience classes are now comprised of three levels: Polite Pooch I, Polite Pooch II, and Outward Hound. Dogs 16 weeks and older start into Polite Pooch I and proceed through the levels as they desire and can meet the necessary skill requirements. You can move as fast or as slowly as you need, attend more than one class each week, and can stay in any one class as long as you want.

You can now purchase classes in a 6-class pass, or 2, 4, 6, or 12 month unlimited memberships. Think of it more as a “training club” than traditional “obedience classes”. This will make it easier for you to get the dog you want!

Class times for Polite Pooch I: Friday at 7:15pm and Saturdays at 1:45pm.

Polite Pooch II: Fridays at 6pm and Saturdays at 3pm.

Outward Hound: Saturday at 9am.

Surviving Puppyhood – FREE for puppies 8 to 16 weeks old

Last but not least, for a limited time we will be offering FREE puppy classes for puppies 8 to 16 weeks. That’s right, free! As long as your pup has had a minimum of one set of shots and has been cleared by the vet as healthy enough to attend classes you are good to go. Join in any week after attending our fun and educational Orientation without your dog (most Saturdays at 5pm) or book a private lesson. Are you tired of having your arms chewed on or your rug peed on? Get in on these FREE classes! All these common puppy issues are covered as well as basic obedience. Get your puppy into this class early enough to ensure he grows up to be a calm, well mannered canine companion. Although it’s a free class, you are still required to sign up for the weeks and times you would like to attend.┬áMore info about our Surviving Puppyhood class.
