Start your new puppy off right with our fantastic Kinderpuppy obedience and socialization class! This will be the final round of basic obedience classes until fall. We have a few spaces left in this full curriculum class, puppies preferred. Register soon as spaces fill fast! Puppies under 6 months are preferred but older, non-aggressive dogs can also attend.
Puppies can start as early as 8 weeks old with one set of shots. We take proper precautions to prevent the spread of communicable disease and ensure everyone is safe so you can take advantage of your puppy’s primary socialization window and prevent future behaviour problems.
This class will run weekly on Thursday evenings at 6:15 pm for 7 weeks. You must pre-register and place a non-refundable deposit to hold a space. It will cover essential basic behaviours like sit, down, leave it/drop it, come, stay, go to bed, sit to greet, and polite leash walking as well as common puppy problems such as house training, nipping, socialization, and accepting handling for vet and grooming.
Early training builds a well behaved pet straight from the beginning and prevents your puppy from developing bad habits. We teach fun, humane and effective training methods like clicker or marker training and lure/reward training. Our training methods are based on the latest scientific research and get fast results in a dog-friendly manner. This class will be our LAST full curriculum obedience class until fall. We will be running Saturday drop in classes through the summer, however.
The class dates are tentatively set from May 17th to June 28th. The cost of classes is $140 +HST or $120 +HST for dogs adopted from a legitimate rescue or shelter.
Please phone 250-521-BARK, email email@example.com, or come into the store in person at 1396 Cedar Avenue for more information or to pre-register.
The classes are taught by Sarah Fulcher BFA, CERT.CBST, who is a Certified Obedience Instructor through Animal Behaviour and Training Associates and an Animal Behavior College Certified Mentor Trainer. She also has a Certificate in Canine Behavior Science and Technology through the Companion Animal Sciences Institute. Sarah has been training dogs for over 10 years and is committed to continued education and humane training methods.
