A word from Erin and how she started making collars:

I recently started up a business making dog collars. I first started making them a year ago just as a hobby. While working at a pet store I was frustrated with how boring and uninspiring the dog “fashion” accessories were. I went online to see if I could find something for my dog to wear that would reflect her fun-loving personality. I found some really fashionable leashes and collars in the U.S but they were very expensive. Combined with high shipping costs, I didn’t think it was worth it to buy online. That’s when I got my inspiration to make my own.

I ventured out to the local craft and fabric stores and was super excited when I saw all the fun, cute, bright patterns I could buy and turn into collars =) I gathered my supplies and got to work. After a whole lot of trial and error with my Mom’s old sewing machine, I figured out how to make my collars just right.

My dog Susan loved her collars and they got a lot of attention from my friends and family. People started asking me to make collars for their dogs. That’s when I decided to try and expand my little hobby. I absolutely love it and I can’t stay off the sewing machine. It’s a great feeling to know that each product I’m making is going to a special loved dog ?
